2015 Perception Modification Certification Study Camp and Four Hour Semi-private Session

Update, which supercedes all previous announcements:

Who:   Kayce Cover will lead a Certification Camp in “Perception Modification – Conditioned Relaxation & Cycles”

Why: Because the reasons dogs lose their homes and their lives is usually due to failure to manage emotions and cope with stressors appropriately.  In this camp, we will lead people to master the Perception Modification process, solving all kinds of difficult problems with dogs.

What:  Four full days (10am – 4:30pm) of study and application of Perception Modification principles and protocols, leading toward earning certification at Level I*.  (see details below).

Participants can bring any dog that they can certify they can handle safely in public** (see details below).  As space permits, participants can bring multiple dogs.

We will work as many dogs as possible as we master critical skills, and knowledge.

When:  Sat May 2, through Tue, May 5, 10am to 4:30pm.

Plus: There will be a separate event for certified trainers, their clients, and dedicated owners. There will be a 4 hour semi-private session, Wednesday, May 6, 10am – 2:30pm, (10-4:30 for attending certified trainers). (see below for details) You can bring snacks or lunch, or work straight through. This is to work directly with dogs with problems. Newly certified trainers may find this event provides a useful template to use with clients, as well as a chance to see the approach given to multiple cases, working together. This is an outstanding option for your clients that need this work and can continue with you. You can attend with the client, or the client dog, and work on issues, or observe and help others. The dog gets a strong start with us working together, and you can leave with a lesson plan for the client dog (or your own).

Where:  Metea County Park 8401 Union Chapel Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46845

How:  To participate in this four day camp, or the four hour semi private session, read the info, complete the registration form  at https://synalia.com/2014-PM-Certification-Camp and click on PayPal button to pay (see the drop down menu on the PayPal button to choose your payment option).

Cost:  $1749.00 for the Perception Modification Camp; Private sessions as arranged. (If you want  to pay in installments, the price goes to $1760.00, $500 secures your place, with another payment of $700 due by Mar 20.  2015, and the balance of $560 due by midnight, Apr 16, 2015.  International payments: please write for instructions (kc@synalia.com).  US payments can be by check, but full payment must arrive by Apr 16, 2015 to Kayce Cover, PO Box 8788, Norfolk, VA 23503.  No refunds.

*The goal is for each participant to earn certification, which requires demonstration of mastery of the skills, and passage of a written test with 95% or better score. Students collaborate to accomplish this as a team.  The result is all trainers emerge being excellent at these skills, rather than passing at a mediocre level.  This is doable!  Come ahead.  If you are not generally comfortable in a class or test environment, come anyway.  This will be a new experience.

**  Dogs:  All can bring a dog(s) as approved.    You must certify, signed and in writing, that you will manage the dog safely in public, and will bring and engage whatever equipment required to do that.   If any dog is disruptive, he will be excused from the camp until he is no longer disruptive.

All dogs must be on lead at all times when out of crates or cars, and in crates or cars the remainder of the time. No dogs are to be brought into contact except in accordance with the class activities.  Please bring private water bowls, crate covers.

New event added: Trainers: The 4 hour event on the 6th, just after the certification camp is to introduce owners/trainers to Perception Modification and get them started in solving their problems, then to be followed by certified trainers. It is recommended for you also, as a chance to apply SATS solutions in a client context,  a template for one way to apply SATS in your business, and as a chance to see approaches to multiple cases, while also seeing the class format. You are also welcome to bring a dog(s). This is totally optional and has a separate fee: $175. To register, just submit the registration form on the certification camp page, and submit separate payment using the PayPal drop down menu.
